How can I (manually?) synchronize Linux and Android PIM data without any detour to Google?

The Linux application evolution allows to export the calendar data and the contact data simply by a left mouse click on the contact entry or the calendar entry: the calendar is saved as ics file, the contact data as vcf file. And such files can simply be pushed into the Android memory using the USB wire as already described for integrating your own ring tone.

The T-Mobile G2 touch offers an (HTC) application for managing contact data named Kontakte. And it offers an (HTC) application for managing calendar data called Kalender. But until now I didn't find any options or any menu entries of these applications which allow to import such contact or calendar files into the applications. If anyone knows such a possibility I would appreciate his explaining message.
